Are You Being Called to Active Duty?
Why do people volunteer? To fulfill their sense of what it means to be human. Volunteering is an aspiration act: it is work we do willingly to fulfill our belief in what we must do for each other, a reaching for those qualities of humanity that we believe are the right ones, the ones that make us most human. For some, this is expressed as a "giving back" some of the advantages we have enjoyed. For others, it is simply their expression of the right way for humans to treat each other.
Volunteers are vital to accomplish the Army's extensive work, especially at Christmas, for this reason we are calling on you to join us in making sure not one person goes hungry this season and to make sure not one child goes without a toy or gift.
We are calling you to active duty in your Salvation Army!
