Is The Salvation Army in Croydon a Church?
Yes. Absolutely! The Citadel is a Christian Church rooted in the Good News of Jesus Christ, with Sunday Worship Meetings open to all. Our Meetings include bright singing, good music, multi media and Bible based teaching for life. You are welcome to come and share with us!
If The Salvation Army is a Church, can you conduct Weddings?
Salvation Army Officers are ordained Ministers of Religion. We conduct Marriages, Funerals and Dedications of Children (Christenings). If you need more information, please feel free to contact us.
Do I need to wear a uniform?
No, you don't! Many of the people who attend our Church on Sundays do wear their Salvation Army uniform, but you will also find plenty of people who don't. There is no Dress Code at The Salvation Army!
Can anybody attend?
Of course.........and it's free! We'll be happy to see you and your family, and would encourage you to come and meet us.
Will I fit in?
One of the benefits of a large Church is the diversity of its congregation. Chances are, you'll find people here who are just like you, and who will be happy to welcome you into our fellowship. If you feel too shy to come along by yourself, why not bring a friend?
Can my children come to Sunday School?
Yes! Our Sunday School is open to all with classes for ages 3-18. It's action-packed with fun, games, celebration worship and great Bible Teaching for kids. 11:30am every Sunday except the fourth Sunday in the month (and school holidays) when it is at 10am.
Are Salvationists full-time?
The vast majority of Salvationists are not full time, and have busy day to day home & work lives very much like everyone else. Our members at Croydon Citadel represent a wide variety of careers in their lives outside of Church.
