Literally ‘Welcome’ to the Tanzania Command Website.
Our Command Headquarters is located in the port city of Dar-es-Salaam (translated - Haven of Peace), and from here oversights the work and ministry of The Salvation Army located in various areas of this vast country. To enable the ministry to be effective the country is divided into 2 divisions, 2 districts and 1 independent section, each having its own headquarters and responsible leaders. There are 60 corps and 33 outposts with a total of 3,438 senior members (soldiers) and 2,100 junior members (junior soldiers). We have a task force of 95 officers (90 active and 5 retired), 12 cadets and 87lay workers oversighting the evangelical, community and social ministries.
