Emergency Relif for Aila Cyclone Victims, INT

The destruction by “Aila Cyclone” in West Bengal was a concern of each and everyone. The Territorial Commander sent Major Joginder Masih, Social Secretary and Major Samir Patra, Community Development Secretary from the T.H. Q. to make survey of the affected areas. Under their leadership, the Divisional team accompanied them and surveyed the affected area. The very next day, under the leadership of Lt. Colonel Paul P.Christian, Chief Secretary, the team went to the selected place and distributed relief packages to 300 families, each packet containing rice, flour, pulses, cooking oil, spices, tarpaulin and carpet etc. We are very grateful to the National Secretariat staff and Manager of Social Services Center who joined with us to distribute the relief.

The beneficiaries are very much thankful to The Salvation Army for the timely help. We are also thankful to the Crisis Action Group at IHQ for the help provided to the poor and needy people.

Major Gurnam Masih, Emergency Social Secretary, India Northern Territory
