Welcome and Dedication Meeting Webcast

Webcast of the Welcome and Dedication Meeting for The Salvation Army's new international leaders – General Shaw Clifton, Commissioner Helen Clifton and Commissioner Robin Dunster – held at 4 pm on Saturday 8 April 2006 in Kensington Town Hall, London.

Commissioner Israel L. Gaither (USA National Commander designate) welcomes the congregation to this dedication meeting commencing with the song 'I would be thy holy temple'. Words of greeting from Commissioners Gaither then lead into the rousing congregational song 'Yet once again by Gods abundant mercy', then a worship band leads the devotional song 'The Potter's hand'. This is followed by a prayer time led by Commissioner Eva D. Gaither with the chorus 'To be like Jesus'. Lt Colonel Victor Poke brings greetings from Salvationists of the UK Territory with the Republic of Ireland. Portsmouth Citadel Songsters sing 'God of my praise' and 'With wings as eagles'. The congregation then sings 'Of all in earth or Heaven (the Christ of Calvary)' and, with the help of the worship band, 'Great is the darkness' and 'Send the fire!'

Commissioner Makoto Yoshida brings welcome greetings to Chief of Staff Commissioner Robin Dunster. Commissioner Rosemary Makina then presents the scripture reading followed by 'Silent Vigil' played by the International Staff Band. The Retired Generals then bring greetings before a presentation by children representing the whole world.

Commissioner Berit Odegaard welcomes the new world leaders, followed by a response from Commissioner Helen Clifton. The dedication begins with the congregational song 'I have not much to give thee, Lord' then Commissioner Israel L. Gaither leads the prayer of dedication. General Shaw Clifton speaks and encourages a time of rededication and response by all.

The time of rededication then leads to the final song 'O boundless salvation!' and is followed by the closing prayer and benediction lead by Commissioner Lalkiamlova.
