Major Joan Thomas
I am Joan Thomas, a Guyanese by birth and I am a member of the Messagers of the Truth Session 1994-1996. I was commissioned in June 16, 1996 and my first appointment was the Rae Town Corps. I spent one year and then I was transferred to the Kingston Central Corps for six months where I got married to my husband Vilece whom I then joined in service at the May Pen Corps. We spent one year in May Pen together after which we were sent as pioneers of newly opened work in Saint Maarten. Our tenure in Saint Maarten was very rewarding as God used my husband and I to do what at that time seemed impossible. Then in 2003 we were appointed to the Training College where I served as the Finance Officer and five years later I was transferred and appointed as the Divisional Finance Officer and Citadel Corps Officer in the Guyana Division, that appointment lasted for three years and I am currently serving again at the Training College this time as the Education Officer.
