Meals Ministry

To provide on-going leadership, assistance and support to The Salvation Army's Lunch & Friends meal programme.

To provide on-going assistance and support to The Salvation Army's Lunch & Friends meal programme.

Christmas Services

Christmas Kettles
To collect donations by way of standing with a pre-assigned kettle at a specified location for a scheduled shift. Must be dressed appropriately representing The Salvation Army. Will receive donations from the general public for the duration of shift.

Sunshine Bag Stuffers
Filling Sunshine Bags to be handed out to elderly members of extended care units and seniors' care homes.

Set-Up Crew Member for Community Christmas dinner
Setting up tables, chairs, dishes and cutlery in the dining hall; arranging chairs in the chapel; decorating dining hall window sills with Yule logs and candles; trimming the Christmas tree.

Clean-Up Crew Member for Community Christmas dinner
Vacuuming the chapel; taking down and putting away dining hall tables, chairs and decorations; mopping floors; returning gifts and decorations to appropriate storage places; removing decorations from the Christmas Tree.

Gift Wrappers for Community Christmas dinner
Wrapping gifts for distribution at the Salvation Army's annual Community Christmas Dinner.

Kitchen Clean-Up Crew for Community Christmas dinner
Using safe and hygienic dish washing practices to clean dishes and tableware, pots and pans and other similar items; putting away these items back to their proper storage place; mopping kitchen floors; wiping down counters.

Emergency Services

Emergency Disaster Relief Services Sandwich Makers & Servers
Making sandwiches; light kitchen clean-up (wiping down counters, dish washing, putting items away in their proper storage place); serving soup, sandwiches, and beverages from the Emergency Disaster Relief Services Vehicle; interacting with clients in a pleasant and hospitable manner.

Emergency Disaster Relief Services Team Captain
Planning and initiating the EDRS programme in cooperation with the Community Ministries Coordinator; scheduling EDRS team members; ensuring proper Food Safe procedures are followed; interacting with clients in a warm and pleasant manner; coordinating the purchase, use and tracking of supplies; receiving appropriate EDRS training (Personal Services Training Levels I and II) 

Emergency Disaster Relief Services Soup Maker
Purchasing ingredients for soup-making; creating wholesome and nutritious soups or stews; cleaning up TSA kitchen after use; putting away utensils, pots and pans, and other supplies in their proper storage place; keeping costs of supplies within budget; communicating any concerns to the Community Ministries Coordinator.

Food Bank

Bread & Produce Helper
To provide on-going assistance and support to The Salvation Army's Bread & Produce programme.

Food Bank General Worker
Assisting in organizing the food storage room; repackaging food items as needed; pack grocery bags for distribution; distributing grocery bags and produce on Food bank Day; disposing all cardboard boxes and other debris resulting from food bank activities; assisting with cleaning duties related to food bank activities: vacuuming, wiping tables and shelves, defrosting and cleaning freezers; interacting with clients in a pleasant and respectful manner. Thrift Store

Thrift Store Volunteer
To assist and support the general operation of the Thrift Stores.
