“There is no village, town, or country so dark in sin, but what if I could have its children, I would win for Jesus. It is to the clatter of young feet that we hear the tramp of the coming world. It is from the arsenals of the playground, the schoolroom, and nursery that we alone hope to replenish our resources and march our armies of desperadoes to contend for God and truth, when we ourselves are marshaled above.”
- William Booth (on his 80th birthday)
The Salvation Army has always been committed to reaching young and old for Christ. We follow the example of our Saviour when we value the young and celebrate their contribution to the Kingdom (Mark 10:13-16).
The youth department of Manitoba and Northwest Ontario works diligently so that the Army’s circle of influence to children and youth is extended as far as possible. We believe it is our mission to share the hope of Christ with as many young people as we possibly can.
“When we reach out to the children we see around us, we can make a world of difference.” (Bill Cosby)
