Doing some extra chores at home is no problem for Whyte Ridge Elementary School students. Children in kindergarten through grade four tidied their rooms, washed dishes, and swept the floors to earn extra money so they could help people in the City of Winnipeg who are facing challenging times this Christmas season.
With the support and encouragement of many moms and dads, these caring students made Christmas a little ‘warmer’ and brighter for those others by using the money they earned to buy socks, mittens, toys, and books. These much needed items were collected in classrooms through November and December, and presented to The Salvation Army just in time for distribution in Christmas Hampers and at Community Christmas Dinners.

“The best gift of all is from the heart,” is a song the grade-one students sing in class, and their gifts - like the gifts of so many - make “Giving Hope Today” a reality.
